Our Decisions Unit team has been shortlisted for Mental Health Innovation of the Year at the HSJ Awards, one of the most prestigious honours in UK healthcare.
The team has been recognised for its innovative work alongside Yorkshire Ambulance Service to create a direct referral pathway to the Decisions Unit.
This improvement in how people are referred, assessed, and supported has reduced long A&E waits for people in a mental health crisis and made sure people receive the right care the first time.

This collaboration has not only improved service user experiences but has also helped ease pressure on emergency services.
Congratulations to Tom Milner, Jason Shale, Raihan Talukdar, and Claire Maguire for their leadership and commitment to this work. Their collaboration has been central to the project’s success.
The winners will be announced later this year, watch this space!
