Our Council of Governors is formed of elected members of the public and staff members. It also includes appointed representatives from local organisations that we work in partnership with.

Governors hold our Non-Executive Directors to account, ensure that the interests of the Trust's members are taken into account and help to shape our plans for the future.

Our governors make sure that the needs of the local population are being met and that staff and service users are fully involved in and consulted on any changes.

All staff, public and patient governors are elected by members of our Trust. You can become a member of the Trust here.

Governor Elections 2024

Nominations for Sheffield Health and Social Care governors elections closed at 5pm on 29th April. Further to the deadline for the nominations, the valid nominations received can be found on the statement of nominated candidates.

Voting for contested seats closed on Monday 17 June at 5pm. The election results can be found here and the statement of uncontested seats can be found here.

Governors play an essential role of our Trust, providing a bridge between our membership, our community and our Board. There are statutory duties that governors perform however most importantly they represent their communities. They help us to learn, develop and continue to grow as a Trust.

For any further information about becoming a governor, please email: foundation.trust@shsc.nhs.uk

Governors offer valuable contributions to ensure good corporate governance. The council meets up to five times a year to discuss the business of the Trust.

Governors are also involved in the Trust in other ways and attend meetings and events at Trust sites and in the community.

You can look at our list of current governors by opening up the categories they represent below. If you would like to get in touch with the governor for your area you can contact them by emailing governors@shsc.nhs.uk

Each of our governors must declare any potential conflicts of interest. You can view the council of governors register of interests here.
