Coronavirus - changes to this service

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak we have made changes to visiting arrangements to Endcliffe Ward. To find out more please visit shsc.nhs.uk/coronavirus

Endcliffe Ward is a purpose built psychiatric intensive care unit which has 10 beds.

This is a locked unit providing twenty-four-hour care for people in a mental health crisis who require a safe, controlled environment with high intensity nursing care.

Endcliffe Ward is a low stimulus environment with high levels of observation and high intensity care planning.

Each of our service users has a care plan which outlines specific details of the treatment and support they will be offered. This includes a named nurse who will be allocated to service users and work with them throughout their time on the ward.

Service users on Endcliffe Ward have access to a range of professionals, including Nurses, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Support Workers and Occupational Therapists. The team share their expertise and experience to provide the very best care to our service users.

Endcliffe Ward serves the whole Sheffield and works closely with services across the city.

Facilities

Encliffe Ward is based at the Longley Centre at the Northern General Hospital. In front of the ward you’ll find a large free car park. If you’re visiting the ward please ensure you speak to reception who can provide you with a parking permit.

All of our service users have access to laundry facilities, a cashier service and lockable storage.

We do recommend that service users do not bring high value items such as laptops or tablets onto the ward, and do so at their own risk.
