Because they’re self-isolating during the Coronavirus pandemic, many of the people on our wards cannot get out to buy simple things. This means that they are going without items that provide access to therapeutic activities and support their wellbeing and mental health.
We are appealing to the communities and businesses of Sheffield to help support people staying on our wards right now.
Could you donate any of the items below?
We’d love to make some self-soothing toiletry bags for our service users to help make their stay with us as comfortable as possible. Please note we can only accept new unopened items. This is due to strict infection prevention rules.
We’re asking for:
- Toiletry bags or boxes,
- nail brushes,
- hair brushes,
- hair combs,
- face flannels,
- shampoo and conditioner
- bubble bath or bath bombs
- sachets of hot chocolate
Art supplies – new and not pre-used
Art is a really mindful activity and we really want to allow our service users to be able to draw and paint.
- Art paper, drawing paper, canvases.
- Items so service users can keep in touch with loved ones
- Notelets, writing sets, boxes of cards.
But our wards could really use some footballs to help our service users get some therapeutic exercise during lockdown. We’d love some new footballs if you donate them.
Lots of our service users staying on our wards really enjoy gardening. It can be therapeutic, mindful, and a great way to exercise. It’s fantastic for mental wellbeing! They need:
- Garden plants
- Plastic gardening tools
