Our new Service User Engagement and Experience Strategy

We are currently developing a new Service User and Experience Strategy which will outline our commitment to continuously improve our approach to working with our service users.

To ensure that the strategy reflects this ambition we are involving a range of people, from service users, carers and families, to former service users and people working in the wider health and social care system.

We recently partnered with Sheffield Flourish to run a workshop to help kick start the development of the strategy. The workshop used pictures and story telling to engage with people and encourage them to think about where we are currently and where they'd like us to be.

Key findings from the workshop

Some of the key feedback from service users at the workshop included:

  • We’d like to see more diversity amongst experts by experience, embed experts by experience at all levels and see different opportunities available
  • We want a variety of different communication approaches and channels, accessibility and visibility and a diversity of reach
  • We want to be working with wider and more diverse partners, ensuring we make it more accessible to work together
  • We want to improve communications for quality improvement through feedback and bridge the gap between the public and voluntary sector
  • We want to use a variety of different digital communication channels including traditional ways and ensure we make digital accessible
