1. Award winning organisation
Our staff and services are regularly recognised in national awards. We've received awards from Positive Practice in Mental Health, Health Service Journal, the Healthcare People Management Association and the Royal College of Psychiatrists, among others.
2. Flexible working
Supporting staff to balance their work and home life is really important, so we offer flexible working arrangements which take into account your personal circumstances.
3. Staff wellbeing
Our staff are our most important asset, which is why we make sure we do everything we can to help improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing. Some of the staff wellbeing support we offer includes monthly Schwartz Rounds, confidential counselling, mentoring and a free fast-track physiotherapy service.
4. Broad range of services
We cover mental health, learning disability, substance misuse, dementia and specialist services in the Sheffield region - which means there's lots of different areas to get involved in! Our nurses have the chance to do rotations in different wards and our Bank Office offers the chance to work in different services.
5. Personal development opportunities
We offer a range of opportunities for personal and professional development, training and learning both within our organisation and with local and national training providers.
6. Social life
There's lots of opportunities to get social with your colleagues across the Trust - like our 5K fun run, football and running groups, choir and various fundraising initiatives.
We have a dedicated Research Development Unit which has around 40 research studies open at any one time. If you want to get involved with research, we can support you to join our network of clinical research champions.
8. Diversity, inclusion and fairness
We have a thriving BAME Staff Network Group, open to all staff who do not identify as White British. We also hold an annual Working Together Conference and offer a BAME mentoring programme which includes members of the Board of Directors. We also have an established international health partnership with mental health services in Gulu, Northern Uganda, which offers a range of opportunities for staff to get involved.
9. Exciting future
We are undergoing lots of exciting changes, including developing a new mental health crisis hub which will enable our teams to work together in ways they've never been able to do before. It'll provide the very best therapeutic environment for our service users to receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
10. Great place to live and work
Sheffield is a great place to live and work - here's 10 reasons why we think so.
