Today we’ve launched our campaign to make SHSC a flu free zone

We are giving everyone who works at SHSC a free flu vaccination.

Flu (influenza) is a common infectious viral illness spread by coughs and sneezes. It can be very unpleasant, but you'll usually begin to feel better within about a week.

But this year especially, it’s important that as many SHSC staff are protected from flu as possible. That way we can keep each other and those we care for safe and continue to provide much needed mental health and social care for people across Sheffield.

For that reason, we are aiming for 100% of people who work at SHSC to be vaccinated this year.

Already, over 250 members of the team have booked a vaccination for the coming weeks. We’re running clinics for staff every day in October and have trained three times more vaccinators than in 2019 to help us vaccinate as many people as possible.

If you think you might have flu visit the NHS website to learn about the symptoms.
