New SHSC values launched during interactive event

Our new refreshed values were launched yesterday at an exclusive event featuring interactive games, presentations and inspirational speakers.

More than 100 people from across Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust attended the event, which was open to everyone who works for us. People shared fantastic feedback and ideas about how we can all develop the values further and embed them into our daily working lives.

Our new values are:

  • We work together
  • We are inclusive
  • We keep improving
  • We are respectful and kind

Our values define us as an organisation. They set out how we all should behave in our work and make sure we give the very best care to the people we support.

We have developed a new behaviour framework alongside our new values to help us do this. The new framework provides a concise view of the values and how these behaviours sound when brought to life.

It will support activities like guiding decision making across all areas of work, shaping how we interact with colleagues, service users and stakeholders and, managing and celebrating our performance.

Jo Sessions, clinical psychologist, and Abiola Allinson, chief pharmacist, are the co-chairs of the new values delivery group.

They helped to host the event, which was also attended by Salma Yasmeen, chief executive, and Sharon Mays, chair.

Thank you to everyone who organised the day and ensured it ran smoothly, including our Organisational Development team and Denise Hampson, an external delivery partner from the firm Desire Code.
