Introducing our new Chief Executive

We are very excited to announce that Jan Ditheridge will join the Trust as our new Chief Executive in March 2020.

Jan joins the organisation having been the Chief Executive of Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust (Shropcom) since 2013. She has overseen a period of sustained improvement at Shropcom, culminating in the Trust being rated as Good by the CQC across all its services earlier this year.

She is an experienced strategic leader with a background encompassing a broad variety of clinical, operational and leadership roles across health, social care and the private sector. She also has a wealth of expertise in the areas of cultural change, transformation, delivery, clinical quality and effective performance management.

Jan grew up in Derbyshire, completing her mental health and general training there before taking advantage of the many learning opportunities the NHS and healthcare has to offer around the country and abroad. She currently lives in Worcestershire and is looking forward to relocating to Sheffield to take up this exciting role.

Until Jan joins the Trust, Clive Clarke will continue as Interim Chief Executive.

I am really delighted to welcome Jan to our Trust and I know that our colleagues will all support her in her new role. Jan will bring a fresh approach to mental health leadership in our city. Jan puts people at the heart of her vision. She’s committed to helping people in our city get the best possible care and driving up standards. She is also committed to listening to the views of staff, service users and carers.

Janye Brown OBE, Chair of the Board of Directors at Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust

When I heard the news that I had been successful I thought I’d won a great big prize. I’m so delighted to be joining Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust, and as I progressed through the recruitment process meeting service users, carers, staff, board members, system partners and governors I knew it was something special. Something I really wanted to do.

“I’ll be sad to leave Shropcom, leaving behind many happy memories, but I’m so looking forward to joining Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust. I am intending to move to Sheffield so will spend the next couple of months looking for somewhere to live as well as starting to spend time in the organisation getting to know it better. I am particularly excited to meet staff, service users and carers.
