Fantastic feedback about one of our social workers

Well done to Angela Anson, a social worker in our early intervention service!

Angela received the following praise from a relative of a service user. Identifying details about the service user have been changed to protect their identity.

As Angela's manager Paul Reeves said: "This is a heart warming tribute to the excellent work that Angela has been providing."

Well done, Angela.

"My relative (Tony) and I first met Angela Anson in April, 2023 after being referred by the northlands recovery team to the early intervention team for psychosis at the Limbrick Centre.

"At our first meeting Angela was observant, pragmatic and very informative, providing clear boundaries for her role in the development of our service / client relationship and what this would be like moving forward. My relative found her approach beneficial. Angela demonstrated her approach quickly and within a very short time, she had supported Tony in applying for and acquiring a travel pass.

"Angela has also been instrumental in connecting my relative and I to additional support within the service and following up on the initial contacts. Angela is very mindful of where Tony is up to in his treatment plan. Whenever we visit the Limbrick Centre, if she is around, Angela will always connect with us and comment on Tony's next steps. Angela is developing a trusting relationship with Tony.

"As a family we had been supporting Tony with his Personal Independence Payment application without success. When we decided to appeal against the DWP decision not to award Tony with any level of payment, Angela was instrumental in helping us to understand the real impact of Tony's needs and how to articulate this effectively in the appeal. Angela also supported us with collecting the necessary supporting documents. As a result, the appeal was suspended and Tony was awarded the enhanced PIP rates for both the DLA and for mobility, both of which are hugely necessary as Tony moves towards independent living.

"During a very stressful time of planning for Tony's next steps for moving into assisted living, Angela was highly impactful in helping us to appropriately articulate Tony's potential challenges for semi-independent living. This has had the desired outcome of Tony being accepted into an assisted living programme in which he will most likely thrive (Tony is on the waiting list).

"Angela Anson is a practical, outcomes driven professional with a warm and caring nature that she has used to quickly assesses the needs of Tony and myself. Angela is an important asset to the social worker profession."
