Could you be a PLACE assessor?

Have you accessed healthcare services offered by SHSC, either as a current patient, carer, family member, or advocate? If so, you might be interested in joining our Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE) team.

We’re looking for service user assessors to work with us to help improve the spaces where care is delivered. Together, we aim to create environments that feel safe, welcoming, and supportive, where everyone feels valued and recognised.

To become a PLACE assessor, you will need:

  • availability during the 12-week PLACE period, starting Monday 1 September

  • willingness to take part in one or more assessments, with assessments lasting between two and six hours depending on the site

  • access to a phone or email

  • not be currently employed by or have been in employment by SHSC within the last two years

If you're interested in joining us as a PLACE assessor, please fill out this expression of interest form and send it to Melanie Dyche at melanie.dyche@shsc.nhs.uk by Friday 29 August.
