Recognition and achievement awards

Our staff and volunteers do an incredible job supporting our service users, their carers and loved ones, but a lot of that work often goes under the radar.

Every year our recognition and achievement awards celebrate the amazing work that goes on across the Trust each and every day.

It’s our way of saying thank you to staff and volunteers who go above and beyond.

Award categories

Compassionate Care by an Individual or Team

This award is for an individual or team who has shown extraordinary compassion and kindness in all aspects of their work and who go the extra mile to meet the individual needs of service users and carers.

Learner of the year

This category is designed to reward learners at any level who have demonstrated outstanding achievements through undertaking a programme of learning. The candidate will also have used their learning to great success, whether to the benefit of other colleagues or service users.

Inspirational Leader

This award recognises people who have courage and a clear vision and who inspire their team and/or colleagues to perform at their best. Through their leadership they increase service user satisfaction and meet or exceed quality standards.

Outstanding Achievement by an Individual

This award recognises an individual who provide a consistently high quality service to service users and/or colleagues, demonstrates the Trust’s core values, displays effort and dedication and has a positive can-do attitude as well as being friendly, thoughtful, considerate, caring, compassionate, courteous and professional at all times.

People’s Choice

This award is a chance for service users, carers, visitors or members of the public to nominate staff. It is designed to recognise the difference staff make to the lives of others, both in hospital, in the community and in people’s homes.

This award gives the people we care for the opportunity to nominate a person or team who they feel has provided outstanding treatment and care or who has made a special difference to their lives.

Quality Improvement by a Team

Bringing new ideas into practice can have a positive impact on the people who use our services, improving satisfaction and quality of life. Through service redesign or by improving efficiency, our staff work in innovative ways every day.

This award recognises a team whose positive and focused approach has seen their idea successfully implemented to make a real difference to quality.

Volunteer of the Year

A volunteer who has made an exceptional contribution and shown dedicated commitment to the Trust and our services throughout the year.

Non-Clinical Contribution by an Individual or Team

This award recognises non-clinical members of staff or teams whose outstanding attitudes, performances or achievements have contributed positively to the workings of the Trust, clinical teams and benefitted service users and/or colleagues.

Culture Change of the Year

This category is for an individual or team who has initiated a change in culture in their team, service or workplace, as part of Listening into Action.

Chair’s Special Recognition Award

This special award is chosen by our Chair, and presented to an individual or team who truly lives our values at all times and feels able to challenge those who don’t.

Overall, they enhance the reputation of their team and the organisation and their words and actions reinforce a positive culture and make a tangible difference such as by tackling stigma and social exclusion.
