Non-opiates is a term used to describe all drugs other than opiates like heroin or codeine.

This includes cannabis, cocaine and crack cocaine, ecstasy/MDMA, ketamine, amphetamines, steroids and novel psychoactive substances such as Spice.

If the use of non-opiate drugs is affecting your life or the lives of those around you, we can help.

We offer free support to anyone using non-opiate drugs who is over the age of 18 and lives in Sheffield.

We can give you information, advice, support and treatment to help you address your substance use and begin your recovery journey. We can also provide advice and support if you are concerned about someone else’s substance misuse.

This service is commissioned by the Drug and Alcohol Co-ordination Team at Sheffield City Council

Support we offer

Once you have been referred to us you’ll be seen within seven days.

When we first meet with you we will carry out an in-depth assessment of your substance use, the impact this might be having on your life and look at treatment options.

The support we offer is based on your individual needs and may include talking therapy or support from our medical or nursing teams.

If you are struggling with using Spice, or you’re taking Image and Performance Enhancing Drugs, like steroids, we run specialist clinics with experts who can offer you support.

You’ll also have the opportunity to attend our peer support groups where you can meet people who have completed treatment and can share their experiences.

If you’re in treatment and interested in find out returning to work, our employment support specialists can provide help with applications, CVs and interviews.

Whatever support you access you’ll move at a pace you are comfortable with and we’ll make sure you have everything you need during your recovery journey.

Needle exchange

If you are injecting drugs, we can provide sterile injecting equipment, sharps bins and safer injecting advice to help reduce the risks to you and others.

You don’t need an appointment to use the needle exchange, and you don’t need to be in treatment.

To find out more you can give us a call or drop-in to our clinics at Sidney Street or at the Fitzwilliam Centre.
