WE WILL BE RECRUITING HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE APPRENTICES IN JUNE/JULY 2013
An Apprenticeship is a job combined with vocational training leading to nationally recognised qualifications. Our apprentices spend some time (normally 1 or 2 days per week for at least the first 3 months) at college and the rest of their time in the workplace.
As an apprentice you will achieve:
• a vocational qualification e.g NVQ
• a theory-based qualification e.g Btec
• Key Skills in English and maths (unless you have recent GCSEs)
Our Apprenticeships last 12 months, during which you will be paid a training wage of £100 per week.
We currently employ apprentices in two areas:
Health and Social Care
These apprentices work as healthcare assistants/support workers, providing basic care for service users with mental health issues or learning disabilities.
Business Administration
These apprentices work as administrative assistants, PAs, receptionists etc. supporting our mental health and learning disabilities services.
The experience and training our apprentices receive is highly valued by employers everywhere. Our apprentices have gone on to jobs in:
• the Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust
• other NHS Trusts e.g Sheffield Children’s Hospital
• private sector businesses e.g private healthcare providers and admin roles in a variety of companies
For more information on the apprenticeship programme please contact the Vocational Education Co-ordinator Imogen Pearse Tel: 0114 22 63111 or via email.
