Adult Mental Health Clinical Psychology Services

Our psychologists work with adults with severe and complex mental health problems, often as a member of a specialist team made up of many different health workers and in many different settings

We help patients, their carers and the staff working with them to benefit from a fuller understanding of their condition and support psychological adjustment and recovery.

Our psychologists work across the two Adult Mental Health Directorates within Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Trust. These are:

Acute, Community and Primary Care Mental Health Services Directorate

Psychologists are placed in:

  • Sector Teams (Community Mental Health)
  • Crisis Assessment and Home Treatment Team
  • In-patient Intensive Treatment Unit
  • Specialist Psychotherapy Service
  • Women's/Men's Therapy Services

Recovery, Rehabilitation & Specialist Mental Health Services Directorate

Psychologists are placed in:

  • Continuing Needs Teams
  • Early Intervention Teams
  • Assertive Outreach Teams (SORT)
  • In-patient services at: Forest Close, Forest Lodge and Pinecroft Recovery Ward
  • Specialist Services - Asperger's and Eating Disorders
